The Lagos State Taskforce has removed 55 commercial vehicles from the Agege under-bridge area as part of a major operation to stop illegal parking and road obstruction.
Led by CSP Adetayo Akerele, the Taskforce focused on public transport vehicles like Danfo buses, Korope minibuses, and Keke tricycles. These vehicles had turned the Agege roundabout along Ogba Road into an unofficial motor park.
After gathering reports and surveillance through the “See Something, Say Something” initiative, the Taskforce also extended their action to other problem areas like Ogba, Iju, and Ishaga, which often suffer from heavy traffic.
CSP Akerele pointed out that many of Lagos’ traffic problems are caused by people breaking the rules. He said the recent action shows the government’s seriousness about ending such behavior.
He added that this operation marks a new effort by the state to manage traffic better, help people move faster, and keep roads safe by making sure drivers follow the law.
The Taskforce also warned that they will continue similar operations in other parts of Lagos. Their goal is to shut down all illegal parks and bring order to the roads.
