Former Kogi West senator, Dino Melaye, has raised alarm over the worsening hunger and hardship in Nigeria. Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, he said things are getting more difficult for Nigerians every day. Melaye described the situation as very serious, stressing that millions of people can no longer afford to feed themselves.
He explained that the level of hunger across the country is at a dangerous point. According to him, Nigeria has never been through anything as bad as what people are facing right now. He noted that the suffering is unlike anything in the country’s past, saying it’s the worst he has ever seen.
Melaye revealed that some people are now searching through garbage just to find scraps of food to eat. He said in many rural areas, malnutrition is spreading fast as people no longer have access to proper meals. The former senator blamed the harsh conditions on the current government led by President Bola Tinubu, saying Nigerians have never suffered this much.
He criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), saying they are not leading the country in the right direction. According to him, the policies of the APC are making life more difficult for ordinary Nigerians, and urgent action is needed to fix the situation.
