Alan Pardew names best signing in Premier League so far

Former Newcastle United manager, Alan Pardew, has picked who he thinks is the best signing in this summer’s Premier League transfer window.

He believes Arsenal made the smartest move by bringing in Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP.

Pardew said Gyokeres has all the qualities Arsenal needed. According to him, the striker is a complete player and fits perfectly into Mikel Arteta’s team.

While speaking with talkSPORT, Pardew shared his thoughts and called Gyokeres the top signing among all Premier League clubs so far.

He praised the striker’s ability to score in different ways—using his left foot, right foot, and even his head. Pardew said it’s not easy to find such complete forwards in the game today.

“I’m a big fan,” Pardew said. “He runs into space, holds the ball well, and scores all kinds of goals. This is a great move by Arsenal.”

He added that there was a lot of talk around the transfer, but he’s glad Arsenal finally got the deal done.

Reports say Arsenal paid €73.5 million to sign Gyokeres from Portuguese side Sporting CP. The striker rejected a move to Manchester United, where he would’ve reunited with his former coach, Ruben Amorim.

Gyokeres had an incredible season with Sporting last year, scoring 39 goals in total. He also found the net six times in the UEFA Champions League and added five more goals in the Portuguese Cup (Taça de Portugal).

With such strong numbers, it’s no surprise that many clubs wanted him. But now, Arsenal fans can look forward to seeing what he brings to the team this season.
