Two students on X have shared troubling stories from their first year in university, all because of the type of shirt they wore.
One of the students said he wore a shirt with a big bird logo when he was in 100 level. While on campus, two older students approached him and asked him to identify himself. After he did, they slapped him twice and told him to go change his shirt.
Another student replied with a similar experience. He said he was ordered to kneel and crawl to where the campus “boss,” known as Balo, was sitting. Balo told him to take off the shirt because of the same bird design. When he refused, the student said he was dragged into a building on campus called Banke Eleba.
These stories reveal a worrying trend of intimidation over harmless clothing choices and raise concerns about how power is abused among students.
