Bayern Munich goalkeeper Sven Ulreich has shared the heartbreaking news of his young son’s passing after a long battle with a serious illness.
The 36-year-old footballer revealed that his son, Len, born in November 2018, sadly died in June.
Ulreich made the announcement on Instagram, expressing deep sorrow over the loss. He said their son passed away a few weeks ago after fighting a difficult illness for a long time.
He explained that making the news public was a hard decision, but necessary for their family to bring some clarity to their surroundings and the public.
Sven and his wife Lisa said they are now trying to slowly return to normal life with their daughter by their side.
He expressed gratitude to their loved ones and FC Bayern Munich for being respectful and supportive throughout the difficult months.
The Ulreich family ended the message by asking for privacy and understanding from both the public and the media, and requested no further questions or comments.
