Nigeria govt deploys four armoured personnel carriers to Kebbi

To help tackle insecurity in Kebbi State, the Federal Government has deployed four Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs). These vehicles are expected to strengthen the efforts of security forces battling banditry in the region.

The APCs were officially handed over at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday. The presentation was led by Lt. Colonel M.S. Saleh of the 223 Light Tank Battalion, Zuru, and Major A.P. Azubuine of the 1 Battalion Rear, Birnin Kebbi.

Governor Nasir Idris, who was present to inspect the vehicles, said the deployment would boost the capacity of security agencies, especially in parts of the state that have been affected by bandit attacks. He assured residents that his administration would continue to support the families of fallen officers who died in the line of duty.

The governor also praised the Federal Government and the Nigerian military leadership for focusing on the security situation in Kebbi and the country as a whole. He said the move reflects a serious commitment to addressing the challenges faced by communities threatened by violent groups.

Lt. Colonel Saleh explained that the military is working tirelessly to improve security and called on the public to play a role by providing reliable and timely information that can help military operations succeed.

As part of the event, Major Azubuine officially handed over two of the APCs to the state government. He noted that the handover was part of extra logistics support from the Nigerian Army aimed at increasing security response and mobility in key areas.

This recent deployment shows the government’s renewed focus on supporting frontline troops and restoring peace across Kebbi State.
