Veteran Nollywood actor, Ugezu J. Ugezu, has openly criticized the Senate President for keeping Senator Natasha Akpoti suspended, even after a court ruling said the suspension was wrong.
In a recent social media post, Ugezu reminded the Senate President that Natasha, just like him, was chosen by the people through an election. He questioned why she is still being left out of Senate duties despite the court’s decision.
“The same way SHE got elected to represent her people… was the way YOU got elected to represent YOUR people. Now you suspended her,” he wrote.
Ugezu stressed that a proper court has already ordered Natasha’s return to the Senate. He added that no Senate official has the right to remove a lawmaker who was elected by the people for an unlimited period.
“And you are appealing the judgment? Senate President sir, can you shun frivolities and face your real time parliamentary duties?”
