Vice President Kashim Shettima and President Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, have arrived in the United Kingdom to receive the body of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari. He passed away on Sunday, July 13, while receiving treatment at a clinic in the UK.
The two top government officials are representing the Nigerian government during this emotional moment. They will accompany the late president’s body back to Nigeria.
Buhari will be buried today, July 14, in his hometown, Daura, located in Katsina State, following Islamic funeral traditions. His passing has drawn national mourning, and his final return to Nigeria is expected to be marked by prayers and tributes.
