Insecurity: Adamawa Gov, Fintiri imposes 24-hour curfew on LG

To control the growing insecurity in Adamawa State, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has announced a 24-hour curfew in Lamurde Local Government Area. The curfew is effective immediately and aims to restore peace and order in the troubled area.

This was made known in a statement released in Yola by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou.

According to Wonosikou, the decision was taken after a series of violent attacks and unrest were reported in some parts of Lamurde. The state government is concerned about the safety of residents and sees these recent incidents as a serious threat to peace.

He further explained that the government has instructed security agencies to strictly enforce the curfew. All movements are restricted during this period, and the police and other security operatives have been asked to act firmly.

Wonosikou also gave a clear warning: anyone or any group that breaks the curfew will be arrested and face legal punishment. The government will not tolerate any act that threatens peace.

He ended by saying that the Fintiri-led administration is committed to protecting lives and property. He assured residents that everything is being done to ensure safety and stability across the state.
