Tottenham Hotspur have officially signed Ghanaian winger Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United in a £55 million deal.
The 24-year-old has now signed a long-term deal with Spurs and is the first major signing under new manager Thomas Frank.
Kudus completed his medical earlier this week, and the club announced the signing on Thursday night. He will wear jersey number 20 for the upcoming season.
Speaking after his move, Kudus explained that one of the biggest reasons he chose Tottenham was the club’s exciting project and how the manager plans to develop players.
He praised coach Thomas Frank for helping many players grow into top footballers and said that inspired him to join the club.
Kudus added that he is focused on team success. His personal goals are to help Tottenham earn more points, finish high in the Premier League, and go far in the Champions League.
Kudus had joined West Ham two years ago from Ajax in a £38 million deal. He scored five Premier League goals last season and made 80 appearances for the Hammers, scoring 19 goals in total.
