Lagos belongs to Yorubas and not a no man’s land – Lagos NURTW Chairman Tafa Sego (video)

The Chairman of the Lagos branch of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Tafa Sego, has stirred public reactions after he said that Lagos State is Yoruba land and not a “no man’s land.”

Tafa Sego made this statement during a recent public speech. He spoke strongly in favor of a decision made by an Oba to remove some traditional chiefs known as Baales. These Baales had reportedly attended a political rally held by an opposition party. Sego believes their action shows a lack of loyalty to the ruling party in the state—the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He stressed that leaders and traditional rulers should stand by those in power, especially in a state like Lagos, where political loyalty plays a big role. According to him, the Baales should not be part of events that go against the party currently leading the state.

Tafa Sego also made it clear that he is fully behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and remains a strong supporter of the APC. His comments have drawn mixed reactions online, with some agreeing with his views and others accusing him of promoting tribal division.

While his words have sparked fresh debates on ownership and politics in Lagos, many are watching to see how leaders in the state will respond.
