Jarell Quansah completes £35m move to Bayer Leverkusen from Liverpool

Jarell Quansah has officially completed a move from Liverpool to German side Bayer Leverkusen. The transfer deal is worth up to £35 million.

According to reports, Leverkusen will pay £30 million upfront. Another £5 million could be added through performance-related bonuses that are expected to be easily met.

Liverpool made sure to include a buy-back clause in the agreement. This means the Reds can bring Quansah back in the future for a pre-agreed price.

Quansah played 25 games for Liverpool last season and was part of the team that won the Premier League title. He made his senior debut for the club in 2023 under former manager Jurgen Klopp.

In total, the 21-year-old made 53 first-team appearances for Liverpool, scoring three goals. He also helped the team win the Carabao Cup in the 2023/24 season.

Now, he will be playing under former Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag at Bayer Leverkusen. Quansah also had a big role in helping England’s Under-21 team win the European Championship in Slovakia.

The young centre-back signed a five-year contract with Leverkusen. This deal is the third transfer between the two clubs this summer. Earlier, Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong made moves in the opposite direction to join Liverpool.

Liverpool released an official statement to thank Quansah for his contributions and wished him success in the next stage of his career.
