BREAKING: Former Senate President David Mark resigns from PDP

Former Senate President David Mark has left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), officially ending his long-time membership. He has been a part of the party since the beginning and played an important role in building it.

He made his decision public in a letter dated June 27. This comes shortly after he became one of the temporary leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a party that is now being supported by a group of opposition members. This shows that Nigeria’s political scene is changing.

In the letter he sent to PDP leaders in Otukpo Ward 1, Benue State, Mark said he left the party because of serious problems among the leaders. He said these ongoing problems have embarrassed the party and weakened it badly.

Mark looked back on his years of loyalty to the PDP. He reminded people that he stayed with the party even when many others left after it lost the 2015 presidential election. He worked hard to fix, rebuild, and make the party popular again, and said his efforts helped PDP return to the national spotlight.

However, he said that recent internal issues have made things worse for the PDP. He explained that the party is now divided and facing more leadership fights, making it look weak and confused to the public.

He explained that he didn’t make this decision alone. He spoke with his family, close friends, and political supporters before deciding to quit the PDP. He said the choice was not easy but necessary.

Mark also said he has now joined the National Coalition of Political Opposition Movement. According to him, this group is working to save Nigeria and protect its democracy. He believes joining this new movement is the best way to move forward.
