This morning in Abuja, despite the heavy rainfall, corps members came out in large numbers to welcome the Director-General (DG) of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). Their actions reminded everyone of the NYSC anthem that speaks of serving “under the sun and in the rain.”
Even though the weather was bad, the corps members didn’t stay back. They stepped out in their uniforms and gathered at the NYSC camp to greet the DG who was visiting.
To show that he respects their efforts, the DG and his team also stayed outside in the rain to speak to the corps members. He didn’t hide under a shelter but chose to stand with them, which many people saw as a strong sign of leadership and unity.
This moment touched many and showed how dedicated both the corps members and NYSC leaders are to the national service, no matter the weather.
