Manchester City eliminated from the FIFA Club World Cup after 4-3 extra-time defeat to Al-Hilal

Manchester City have been eliminated from the FIFA Club World Cup after losing 4-3 to Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal in an intense match that went into extra time. The loss happened at the last-16 stage, shocking many fans.

City had done well in the group stage but couldn’t go further because of weak defending. They gave away four goals, which cost them the game and a chance to play in the quarter-finals.

Bernardo Silva gave City a great start by scoring just nine minutes into the match, setting the tone for an exciting night at the warm and humid Camping World Stadium.

But Al-Hilal came back strong in the second half. They scored two quick goals within six minutes after the break, thanks to Marcos Leonardo and Malcom. Erling Haaland quickly answered with a goal to level the score.

In extra time, Al-Hilal took the lead again through Kalidou Koulibaly. Phil Foden later made it 3-3 with his 100th goal for Manchester City.

Just when it looked like penalties might follow, Marcos Leonardo scored again, giving Al-Hilal the win and ending City’s Club World Cup journey.

Al-Hilal will now face Brazilian club Fluminense on Friday in Orlando. Fluminense had earlier defeated Inter Milan 2-0 to move forward in the tournament.
