Former Miss Nigeria, Ezinne Akudo, has finally responded to the old rumours about her and Nigerian footballer Emmanuel Emenike. Her recent interview surprised many fans.

In the interview, the 2013 beauty queen clearly said that she has never been married before. She also said she doesn’t even know Emmanuel Emenike personally.

Ezinne admitted that she had never spoken about the rumours before. “I’ve actually never addressed that,” she said, adding, “But I’ve never been married.”

Reacting to the shock from the interviewer, she continued:

“No, you’re joking. That’s why I said this answer will shock you. The person in question, I have never met in my life. I’ve seen him because I attended his wedding — his wife was someone I knew.”

The rumour had claimed that Emenike once married a former Miss Nigeria and later divorced her before marrying someone else. Ezinne made it clear she was never involved in anything like that.

At first, she chose not to respond to the gossip. She believed it wasn’t worth her time or energy and thought people would stop spreading the false story eventually.

“I never knew that the story would stick the way it did. If you Google it, it’s there — like some confirmed truth. But I’ve never been married, never been divorced, and I’ve never met the person in question.”

Ezinne closed her statement with a line many Nigerians can relate to:

“I fear who no fear media.”
