Nigerian rapper and street voice, Erigga, has shared a deep and honest message to creatives — and it’s something many people needed to hear.
In a recent post on his X (formerly Twitter) page, Erigga spoke about what happens when people sit on their ideas for too long. According to him, delaying action on a good idea can lead to someone else doing it instead.
“If you have an idea you’re excited about and you don’t bring it to life, it’s not uncommon for the idea to find its voice through another maker,” he wrote.
“This isn’t because the other artist stole your idea, but because the idea’s time has come.”
He made it clear that it doesn’t always mean your idea was stolen. Sometimes, the idea simply “moves” to someone else who’s ready to bring it to life. In his words, the idea’s time had come — and it had to find someone willing to act.
Since he shared this post, many creatives have reacted in the comments. Some shared personal stories of how they once had a great concept but didn’t follow through. Later, they were shocked to see someone else doing the exact same thing.
This message from Erigga is a strong reminder: if you have a great idea, act on it now. Waiting too long might mean watching someone else succeed with something you thought of first.
