FCT: Nigerians’ll feel impact of my leadership – Tinubu speaks on supporting Wike

President Bola Tinubu has told Nigerians that they will soon see real changes as a result of his leadership. He made this promise during a major road commissioning event in Abuja on Tuesday.

The newly completed road, Arterial Road N5, links Life Camp Junction to Ring Road 3 in Abuja. It was built to celebrate Tinubu’s second year in office and was officially opened by Vice President Kashim Shettima, who represented the President at the event.

Tinubu explained that when a city is well-organized—roads are smooth and lights are working—it shows that the government is active and serious about its work.

He added that good infrastructure is more than just roads and buildings; it’s a sign of strong leadership. He said that a well-developed city encourages investment, gives people hope, and makes them proud of where they live. That’s why the road project isn’t just about transportation—it’s about showing that Abuja is moving forward for everyone.

He also pointed out that the road project is part of his “Renewed Hope” agenda, a plan to bring visible improvements to the lives of Nigerians.

Tinubu assured that areas outside the city centre of Abuja would also benefit from development projects. He said that faster travel, fewer traffic jams, and better access to schools and emergency services are some of the benefits Nigerians can expect.

“This road is a physical example of our promises being fulfilled. This is what it means to turn hope into real progress,” he said.

He stressed that development would not be limited to popular areas but would reach every part of Abuja, including the less developed parts. Tinubu said that every new road, bridge, and connected community shows that Nigeria is moving forward.

He added that his government wants to make sure development happens everywhere, without ignoring any part of the country.

Tinubu also praised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for his hard work and dedication in carrying out the road projects in Abuja.

He promised to keep supporting Wike with necessary policies and backing to make sure more projects like this are completed successfully.

“I want to thank Minister Wike for his speed and determination in completing this project. Our administration will continue to support the FCTA to ensure more quality projects are delivered on time,” he said.

He explained that the goal is to make Abuja a city that serves all citizens. Tinubu wants the new road to represent not just movement, but true progress. He hopes every Nigerian—no matter where they live—can feel the positive changes his government is working to bring.

Minister Wike also spoke at the event, thanking the President for his help and asking for continued support.

Wike shared that the area where the new road was built was in terrible condition before. He said that the contract was approved last September and construction began in October. Now, just months later, the road is ready.

He thanked Tinubu for making it possible and asked for more help to continue improving Abuja.
