Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso has shared good news with fans about the team. He said two important players are back in the squad and ready to play in their next Club World Cup match.
The two returning players are Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal. Both are defenders and have not played in the tournament yet.
Alonso gave this update during a press conference ahead of their match against Juventus. The game is scheduled for Tuesday night in the Round of 16 at the FIFA Club World Cup.
Militao and Carvajal have missed all of Real Madrid’s Club World Cup matches so far. They’ve not had any playing time in this competition yet.
They were also not part of the squad during the 1-1 draw against Al Hilal. The two defenders missed the team’s victories over Pachuca and RB Salzburg as well.
Alonso said, “Militao and Carvajal are back.” He confirmed that both players will be part of the squad for the Juventus game on Tuesday night.
Real Madrid needs a win against Juventus to move on to the quarter-finals. If they win, they’ll take another step toward the Club World Cup title.
