Al-Hilal surprised everyone at the 2025 Club World Cup by defeating Manchester City and moving into the quarter-finals.
The Saudi Pro League champions needed extra time to win the game 4-3, which was played early Tuesday morning.
Manchester City took the lead in the 9th minute through Bernardo Silva, but Al-Hilal responded with two goals from Marcos Leonardo and Malcom.
Erling Haaland scored in the 55th minute to bring the match to 2-2 and force the game into extra time.
Just four minutes into extra time, Kalidou Koulibaly scored with a header from a Ruben Neves corner. But City equalized again through Phil Foden.
Leonardo scored his second goal in the 112th minute, and that goal ended up being the winner for Al-Hilal.
Before that, on Monday night, Fluminense shocked Inter Milan by winning 2-0 to reach the quarter-finals.
German Cano and Hercules scored the goals that gave the Brazilian side a memorable victory.
Al-Hilal will now face Fluminense in the quarter-finals for a place in the semi-finals.
The other quarter-final matches will see Bayern Munich face Paris Saint-Germain, while Chelsea will take on Palmeiras.
