Today, I had the chance to attend the charity football match hosted by the Troost-Ekong Foundation. The game was held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, and I even joined in for a bit, showing off a few of my football moves on the field.
The event, called #PlayForPurpose, was put together by Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong. It’s all about using football to help others, especially children who don’t have many opportunities. The goal is to give them hope and support through the power of sports.
As the Governor, I believe sports can do more than entertain — it can shape lives, build communities, and inspire young people. That’s why I will continue to support programs like this that use sports for a positive impact.
A big congratulations to William and the Troost-Ekong Foundation for organizing such a meaningful event and showing true leadership by giving back to the community.
