Gospel singer, Oluwatimileyin Ajayi sentenced to de@th by hanging for murd£r of corps member Salome Adaidu

A gospel singer and social media influencer, Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, has been sentenced to death by hanging for the murder of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Salome Adaidu. The ruling was made by the High Court in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

Justice Simon Aboki, who presided over the case, declared Ajayi guilty of the brutal crime. According to the court, he not only murdered Salome but also cut her body into pieces after the killing.

The tragic event took place on Sunday, January 12, 2025. Oluwatimileyin, who is known for his Christian music and motivational content online, was caught near a church in Orozo, a town close to Abuja, carrying a bag that contained Salome’s severed head.

After being arrested, Ajayi later took the police to the location where he had dumped the rest of Salome’s body, which had been cut up into smaller parts.

He was charged with culpable homicide, which means intentional killing, under Section 221 of the Northern Nigeria Penal Code. This offense is considered very serious and is punishable by death.

During his court appearances, Oluwatimileyin tried to act like a religious man. In one of the sessions, he was even filmed praying in court, hoping to gain sympathy.

However, on Thursday, June 26, the judge ruled that all the evidence strongly proved that Ajayi committed the murder. The court was convinced beyond a reasonable doubt.

With the judgment given, the court officially sentenced Oluwatimileyin Ajayi to death by hanging, ending the long and shocking case.
