10 die in Lagos-Ibadan expressway road accident

A fatal accident has claimed the lives of about ten people on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, near Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to reports, the accident happened in the early hours of Tuesday.

It occurred around the Soka area, along the busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, which is known for regular traffic and long-distance travel.

Witnesses revealed that roughly ten people died due to the crash, making it one of the deadliest road incidents recently recorded in the area.

A live update shared on Tuesday morning by Lagelu 96.7 FM, and later reported by PMParrot, gave details of the tragic event.

The crash involved six vehicles—three Nissan Micra taxis and three heavy-duty articulated trucks.

According to eyewitnesses, all the vehicles were heading from Iwo Road when the accident happened suddenly.

Attempts to get a response from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Oyo State were not successful at the time of writing this report.

This tragic incident once again raises concerns about road safety and the urgent need for better traffic regulation on major highways.
