“Anything we can do, we will do” — Trump offers support following deadly Air India Plane crash in Ahmedabad

President Donald Trump has shared his sympathies and offered help after an Air India plane crashed shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner was headed to London and had 232 passengers and 10 crew members on board. Sadly, nearly everyone on the plane lost their lives, making this one of the worst air disasters in history.

During a press conference in Washington, Trump called the crash a “terrible tragedy” and said the United States is ready to help. He stated, “It was a horrible accident. Anything we can do, we will do.”

Trump also mentioned that early reports suggest the aircraft may have lost engine power before going down. “The plane looked like it was flying fine. There wasn’t an explosion. It just looked like the engines may have failed,” he explained. Some unconfirmed reports suggest there may be a few survivors, but officials haven’t released any names yet.

This tragic event adds more pressure on Boeing, the American company that made the aircraft. Boeing has already been under heavy criticism due to previous safety problems and manufacturing issues. Until now, the 787-8 Dreamliner had a good safety record and had never been involved in a fatal crash.

Boeing’s stock dropped by almost 5% after the crash. Shares of Spirit AeroSystems and GE Aerospace, which makes the aircraft engines, also fell by around 2%. Boeing shared a short statement saying they are aware of the crash and are gathering more information.

In the past, the Dreamliner line had problems in 2013 with battery systems, which led to the planes being temporarily grounded. However, there were no injuries then. Boeing’s 737 MAX model has had a much worse safety record, including two deadly crashes that led to years of delays and grounding.

Investigators are now looking into what caused the Ahmedabad crash. Experts say it could take time to find the exact reason. Possible causes include technical problems, mistakes by the pilots, weather conditions, or mechanical failures. As the investigation continues, the world is closely watching the safety of modern air travel.
