Lere Olayinka, who works as a public communications aide to the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has made fun of Dele Momodu. This happened after Momodu’s name was not on the list of people honoured by President Bola Tinubu.
President Tinubu gave out national awards to 31 people in celebration of this year’s Democracy Day.
The people who received the awards were recognised for playing key roles in fighting against military rule in Nigeria.
However, Dele Momodu, who is known to have been active in the fight for democracy, was not included in the list.
Olayinka used this chance to criticize Momodu. He pointed out that Momodu often questions where Wike was during the fight against the military government.
On his X (formerly Twitter) page, Olayinka mocked Momodu by saying: “I didn’t hear the name of Dele Momodu, who always claims he went abroad to help bring back June 12, among those honoured by President Tinubu.”
He joked further, asking if Momodu should instead be given an award for publishing photo books.
Olayinka said Momodu left the country just to hustle, not really to fight for democracy, as he claims.
He also mocked how Momodu keeps talking about how Wike did nothing during the June 12 struggle.
Now that Momodu is not listed among the heroes of June 12, Olayinka asks what excuse he will give next.
He finished by saying that maybe now Dele Momodu will stop making noise online and focus on his social media activities.
