Bello Matawalle, who is now the minister of state for defence and used to be the governor of Zamfara State, has openly asked the current governor, Dauda Lawal, to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He made this request during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration at his home in Maradun, where a large number of supporters came to pay him a visit. While speaking to them, Matawalle said Governor Lawal should stop what he described as “playing hide-and-seek” and officially move over to the APC.
In a statement shared by Ibrahim Dosara, a former commissioner for information in Zamfara, Matawalle said he is ready to welcome Lawal into the APC. He added that there are no personal issues between them and that the party is focused on peace, progress, and security for the state.
Matawalle was also quoted as saying that Governor Lawal should stop the “hide-and-seek” style of politics and come openly to join the APC.
