Thomas Tuchel, who works as a football manager in England, believes that Arsenal and Liverpool will have an edge in the Premier League title fight next season. He says it’s because they won’t be taking part in the FIFA Club World Cup.
Tuchel explained that teams like Chelsea and Manchester City will feel the pressure of the Club World Cup when the 2025/26 Premier League season kicks off. The extra matches and travel could make things harder for them in the league.
He pointed out that Arsenal and Liverpool will benefit from not having to deal with that extra competition. With fewer games to worry about, they can focus more on winning the Premier League.
Speaking to Metro UK, Tuchel said that not joining the Club World Cup gives Liverpool and Arsenal a big advantage in the title race next season.
At the same time, he mentioned that the Club World Cup will be a good experience for the players who are playing in it for the first time. Because of this, he said he has mixed feelings—happy for the experience, but aware of its challenges.
