Rasheedat Ajibade, the striker for the Nigerian Super Falcons, will decide on her next football club after the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Ajibade is leaving her current team, Atletico Madrid in Spain’s top league, at the end of this month. She has played with them for four years and recently appeared in her last match against Barcelona.
There are talks that a team from the United States’ National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) wants to sign her. But Ajibade has chosen to pause all transfer discussions until after the WAFCON tournament is over.
Her focus is now on helping Nigeria win their 10th WAFCON title, a record in the competition’s history. The tournament will take place in Morocco.
The Nigerian team, led by coach Justine Madugu, will face Tunisia, Botswana, and Algeria in the group stage.
Fans are excited to see how Ajibade performs and which club she will join next after the tournament.
