Senator Ali Ndume from Borno is worried that President Bola Tinubu is not fully aware of what is really happening in Nigeria. He thinks this is because the president’s close aides only tell him good things and hide the real problems.
On Channels Television’s Sunday Politics show, Ndume talked about how the government led by the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not doing well. He said many Nigerians are unhappy because progress is too slow.
Ndume said, “Things are not going the way they should, and even the President has admitted that.”
He also asked, “How long can Nigerians keep being patient while the problems continue?”
The senator blamed some of the president’s advisers for only telling him what he wants to hear instead of the truth about the country’s problems.
He did say one adviser, Sunday Dare, is different. Dare always tells the truth and understands President Tinubu well because they have worked together for many years.
Ndume also said that some people who were not elected are controlling the government now. These people make the decisions, and only their ideas are followed.
Even though Ndume is critical of the government, he made it clear that he has no personal problem with President Tinubu.
He said, “The President is my leader. But if he does something wrong, I will say so. That is my responsibility.”
Ndume’s remarks come as the APC government faces pressure to fix big problems like rising prices, poor security, and the high cost of living.
