On Sunday, June 8, President Donald Trump stumbled as he walked up the stairs to Air Force One. He was heading to Camp David when this happened.
Before this, Trump had spoken to reporters in Hagerstown, Maryland. They asked him if he would use the Insurrection Act to respond to protests in Los Angeles about immigration raids.
Trump said it would depend on whether there was an actual insurrection or not.
When a reporter asked if he thought an insurrection was happening, Trump said no. But he added that there were violent people, and they would not be allowed to get away with it.
He was also asked if he would send troops even without using the Insurrection Act. Trump said there would be troops everywhere. He said he wouldn’t let the country be torn apart like it was during Biden’s time.
In the past, Trump often made fun of Joe Biden when Biden stumbled or fell. But now, people are joking about Trump’s own fall.
Some people on social media made fun of Trump. One person said they were surprised he didn’t replace the stairs with an escalator.
Another joked that Trump should get a wheelchair now.
A law teacher said Trump was showing “more beta energy.”
A journalist pointed out that when Biden fell, Fox News showed the clips many times, acting like it was a huge event.
A political expert said he was waiting for all the books and nonstop news coverage about Trump’s stumble.
In 2023, Trump mocked Biden for falling during an Air Force graduation in Colorado. He said it wasn’t inspiring for the graduates to see their president trip over a sandbag.
At a campaign event in Iowa, Trump said he hoped Biden wasn’t hurt because nobody wants that to happen.
Now, the situation is reversed, and Trump is facing jokes and mockery after his own stumble.
