Nigerian football star and Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen, has finally decided to join Al Hilal, one of the biggest clubs in Saudi Arabia. After long discussions, the striker has agreed on personal terms with the club.
At first, Osimhen was not happy with the offer from Al Hilal. He had asked to be paid €40 million a year, but the club did not agree, so he walked away from the deal.
However, things have now changed. Reports say that the striker has accepted a new offer of €30 million per year, and the contract will last for four years.
Sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri confirmed that Osimhen and Al Hilal have reached an agreement on his salary. The deal includes a base salary of about $35 million, and he could earn more through performance-based bonuses.
Even though the player is ready to move, the deal is not fully done. Al Hilal and Napoli have not yet agreed on the transfer fee for Osimhen.
According to another journalist, Gianluca Di Marzio, Al Hilal offered €70 million to Napoli. But the Italian club wants €75 million before they will allow the striker to leave.
Talks between both clubs are still ongoing, as they try to reach an agreement before the deadline.
If the transfer is completed before June 10, Osimhen will be allowed to play in the FIFA Club World Cup for Al Hilal. This is because the mini transfer window closes on that date.
The move is a big setback for Turkish side Galatasaray. The club had hoped to keep Osimhen after his successful loan period, during which he scored an impressive 37 goals in just 43 matches across all competitions.
