Rema’s ‘Rave & Roses Ultra’ Becomes First African Album to Hit 3 billion Streams on YouTube Music

Nigerian singer Rema, whose real name is Divine Ikubor, has achieved a major success on YouTube Music. His debut album, Rave & Roses Ultra, has become the first African album to reach 3 billion streams on the platform.

This is a big moment for African music and shows how far Nigerian artists have come. On Wednesday, it was confirmed that the album had passed the 3 billion stream mark on YouTube Music. Most of these streams came from his popular song Calm Down, along with the remix that features American pop star Selena Gomez.

These two versions of the track have been played by fans all over the world. The album has also broken records on Spotify. It is now the most streamed African album there, with over 3.9 billion streams.

In fact, it was the first African album to cross the 2 billion stream mark on Spotify, and it remains the only Nigerian project to go beyond that point. Rema’s success proves that African music continues to grow and reach new audiences globally.
