Neymar shown red card for trying to score with his hand vs Botafogo

Santos player Neymar Jr was sent off during Sunday’s match against Botafogo after he tried to score using his hand. The game ended with a 1-0 loss for Santos.

The red card came in the 76th minute of the Brazilian Serie A match. Neymar had already been shown one yellow card earlier in the game.

He used his hand to punch the ball into the goal from close range. The referee quickly canceled the goal and gave Neymar a second yellow card, which turned into a red. Many fans in the stadium were upset by the decision.

Santos’ problems didn’t end there. In the final minutes, Botafogo’s Artur Guimaras scored the only goal of the match, giving his team the win.

This result leaves Santos in 18th place after 11 matches in the league. They are now near the bottom of the table.

Neymar’s season has been difficult so far. He has missed seven games due to injury and has not scored or assisted in any of the matches he played.

With this red card, Neymar will now miss even more time on the field, making his return even more challenging.
