Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star Marquinhos has revealed who he believes should take home the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
According to the Brazilian defender, his teammate Ousmane Dembélé deserves the world’s biggest individual football award this year.
Marquinhos even showed his support in public. During PSG’s celebration parade on Sunday, he loudly chanted Dembélé’s name.
PSG made history last weekend after beating Inter Milan 5-0 in Munich. This massive win gave the club their very first UEFA Champions League trophy.
To mark the occasion, PSG held a long open-top bus parade through Paris. The parade started from the Champs Elysees and ended at the famous Arc de Triomphe.
As PSG’s captain, Marquinhos led the chants during the parade, shouting, “Ousmané, BALLON D’OR! Ousmané, BALLON D’OR!”
Winning the Champions League has increased Dembélé’s chances of winning the Ballon d’Or in 2025.
The French forward had a brilliant season, scoring 33 goals and giving 15 assists in 49 matches across all competitions.
Even though he has had an amazing year, Dembélé said before the final that he wasn’t thinking much about the Ballon d’Or.
