Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has expressed her sadness over the tragic flood that recently happened in Niger State. The disaster took the lives of more than 100 people.
In a message she shared on Saturday, Mrs. Tinubu said the situation was truly heartbreaking and painful to hear about.
She explained that the cause of the flooding was partly due to heavy rainfall and the natural landscape of the state, which made it easier for floods to happen.
The sad incident took place on Wednesday, May 28, and Thursday, May 29, 2025. The flood affected several communities, including Mokwa, Tiffin Maza, and Anguwan Hausawa, where many people died and properties were destroyed.
Oluremi Tinubu sent her heartfelt condolences to the Governor of Niger State, Hon. Mohammed Umar Bago, and to all the people living in the affected areas.
She said it was very painful to hear about the loss of lives and properties, and the damage the flood has caused to the communities.
The First Lady also prayed for comfort and strength for the families who lost their loved ones. She asked God to give peace to the souls of those who died in the disaster.
