Kano athletes and officials d!e in road crash while returning from just-concluded National Sports Festival

Some sad news has come from Kano State, where several people lost their lives in a serious road accident. The victims were part of the Kano State team that had just finished taking part in the National Sports Festival in Ogun State.

The crash happened on Saturday, May 31, in a town called Dakatsalle, which is around 50 kilometers away from Kano. The team was almost home when the accident took place. Early information shows that among those who died were athletes, a journalist, health workers, and some officials from the sports commission.

So far, no one knows for sure what caused the accident. However, emergency workers arrived quickly and took the injured people to hospitals nearby. Some of them had serious injuries and needed urgent medical care.

Zahraddeen Saleh, the chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) in Kano, confirmed the sad event. He shared that the Public Relations Officer of the Kano Sports Commission and a photojournalist from Express Radio, an online news site, were among those who passed away.

Investigations are still going on, and officials are expected to give more updates soon about what happened and what caused the accident.
