President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Lagos to join the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). This important event will take place on Wednesday.
His presidential plane landed at Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Ikeja at 4:15 pm. When he got there, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led a group of people to welcome him.
The president was also given a military salute as a sign of respect during his arrival.
Tinubu will meet other leaders and special guests from the West African region to celebrate 50 years of ECOWAS working together.
While he is in Lagos, Tinubu will also open some important projects on Saturday. These projects were started by his government and are meant to improve the state’s infrastructure.
Some of the projects include the first part of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the Lekki Deep Sea Port Tax Credit Concrete Road, the start of the second part of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, and the 7th Axial Road.
Before leaving Lagos and going back to Abuja, Tinubu will take part in the Eid-el-Kabir prayers at the State House in Dodan Barracks.
This visit shows Tinubu’s commitment to regional cooperation and to improving infrastructure in Lagos State.
