Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s lawyers have raised worry about unfair treatment in her case. They say the government filed criminal charges against her but did not answer many serious complaints she made earlier this year.
According to her lawyer, Uju Nwoduwu, the senator sent at least 12 petitions between March and May 2025. These complaints included serious issues like cyberstalking, defamation, threats to her life, and even an attempt to kill her. But the police and security agencies have not responded to these claims.
The legal team said the public should expect law enforcement to be fair and treat everyone equally. They said no one should get special treatment, no matter who they are.
The lawyers are especially concerned because while Natasha’s complaints were ignored, the people she accused—such as Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello—had their claims quickly acted on. This led to criminal charges being brought against Natasha.
They said this difference in how the cases were handled shows a big problem. It looks like justice is not being applied equally. Some of the complaints involve important officials and serious events, like a plan to kidnap and kill one of her staff members.
Even though Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan is now abroad for personal reasons, her lawyers confirmed she has been officially told about the charges. She plans to attend court when her case is scheduled.
Her team said she remains firm about following the law and thanked the public for their support. They called the criminal charges “very questionable” and said they will keep fighting for fairness.
