Russia is set to face Nigeria in an international friendly match in early June. Before the game, Russia’s midfielder Andrei Mostovoy shared his thoughts about Nigeria’s team.
Mostovoy said that Nigeria missing some of their top players like Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Alex Iwobi is not a problem for Russia. He explained that his team has played against weaker opponents before, so they are ready for this match no matter what.
Recently, Nigeria’s coach Eric Chelle announced the squad that will travel to face Russia. Chelle said he left out some of the big stars to give new players a chance to play and show their skills.
Speaking to the media, Mostovoy said Russia expects to play “normal” teams this June. He mentioned that last year Russia played Belarus, which was a good test, and this time Nigeria will also be a strong opponent.
Even though some key Nigerian players won’t be there, Mostovoy believes it won’t affect Nigeria’s spirit or motivation. He said Russia is ready and fully focused on the game.
The upcoming friendly will be an exciting match as both teams prepare to test their players and strategies. Russia is confident, and Nigeria looks to bring new talent to the field.
