A tragic event took place during a birthday party in Los Banos, Laguna, Philippines. A Nigerian man, known as Babylon, was shot and killed by another Nigerian during the celebration.
The incident happened early on Monday, May 26, 2025. The party was hosted by a man named Obinna at a private house.
At first, the party seemed normal, but things took a dark turn when two groups of Nigerians got into a disagreement. One group stayed upstairs while Babylon and his friends were downstairs.
Later on, Babylon’s group went upstairs to tell Obinna they were leaving. However, the group upstairs stopped them. This led to a loud argument between both sides.
According to a source, the argument didn’t stop there. Even though Babylon’s group went back downstairs, someone from the other group followed them and kept arguing. Suddenly, gunshots were fired, and Babylon was hit.
A CCTV camera nearby captured the shooting. The video shows people running in all directions as shots were fired.
Another person who saw what happened said Babylon tried to run away but collapsed in a bush near the house. Sadly, he died from his injuries. His body was found the next morning.
The shooter ran away before the police arrived. Babylon, who lived in Manila, had traveled to Laguna just to attend the party.
Some people believe the attack may be linked to cult activities. So far, no one has been arrested. There are also worries because nobody has come forward to claim Babylon’s body. He reportedly has a wife and children in Nigeria. Efforts are being made to contact his family.
