A 23-year-old woman named Rabi’a Labaran has been arrested by the Katsina State Police for allegedly stabbing her co-wife to death. The incident happened in Daura Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The police spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, said the fight took place behind Dadi Primary School in the Sabon Gari area of Daura town. The two women reportedly had a disagreement that led to a violent fight.

The case was reported on the night of May 24, 2025, at about 11 p.m. The husband, Nasir Yusuf, came back from the market and found his first wife, 30-year-old Zainab Lawal, in a pool of blood. She had been stabbed many times.

Police officers quickly arrived at the scene and took the injured woman to the Federal Medical Centre in Daura. Unfortunately, doctors confirmed that she had already died from her injuries.

During the investigation, the second wife, Rabi’a Labaran, was arrested. She admitted that she stabbed her co-wife after they got into a fight. The police say they are still investigating the case to get full details.

The Commissioner of Police in Katsina, CP Bello Shehu, urged people to avoid violence in their homes. He advised the public to always use peaceful and legal ways to solve disagreements, instead of taking the law into their own hands.
