Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, has raised concerns about unfairness in the electoral setup in Warri Federal Constituency and other parts of Nigeria. He spoke about this during a live interview on AriseTV News.
Mr. Aniagwu said that these imbalances are the main reason for rising tensions in the Warri area. He explained that the uneven distribution of electoral wards has given some people an unfair advantage over others.
He noted that it is not surprising that some people are unhappy with efforts to fix this problem. According to him, those who have benefited from the current system don’t want to lose those benefits.
Aniagwu also pointed out that while these changes aim to bring fairness, it’s natural for people who lose out to feel upset. When people have enjoyed special treatment for a long time, it’s difficult for them to accept change, even if it’s for the good of everyone.
He believes that correcting the imbalance is necessary to make the system fairer for all, even if it means upsetting those who gained from the unfair structure.
