‘We tried, but it’s not working’ – Peter on why P-Square split

Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P and one-half of the famous music duo P-Square, has finally opened up about why he and his twin brother Paul Okoye (Rudeboy) are no longer performing together.

In a recent chat with Cool FM in Lagos, Mr P shared that he feels a deep sense of happiness in his solo music career. He said that working alone has brought him peace and joy that he didn’t feel as part of the group.

He also asked their fans to understand their decision. According to Peter, both he and Paul made efforts to stay together as a group, but things just didn’t work out.

“There’s happiness in being solo. Please respect our choice. We gave it a try, but it didn’t work,” he said during the interview.

It’s important to note that P-Square had previously broken up in 2016 but came back together in 2021. However, in August last year, Paul confirmed that they had split once again.

Despite their past successes as a duo, it seems the brothers have chosen to continue on separate paths, focusing on their solo journeys.
