Rapper Kid Cudi recently shared shocking details in court during Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ongoing trial. He said Diddy broke into his home and burned his Porsche after finding out that Cudi had dated Cassie Ventura, Diddy’s ex-girlfriend.
This trial, now in its second week, has heard from 16 different witnesses. One of them is Cassie herself.
Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, spoke about how Diddy had shown threatening behavior since 2011.
He explained that he briefly dated Cassie in 2011 and believed she was no longer with Diddy at the time.
Cassie once told Cudi that Diddy had hurt her physically. In December 2011, she called him early in the morning, very scared. She said Diddy had found out about their relationship.
Cudi and Cassie quickly went to a hotel to hide. Cassie told him that Diddy had attacked her with a wine bottle opener before she managed to get away.
Later, when Cudi returned home, he found it had been broken into. His security system had been tampered with, presents were opened, and his dog was locked in the bathroom. He called the police, but no one was arrested.
A few weeks later, in January 2012, someone set fire to Cudi’s Porsche outside his house.
Photos shown to the court revealed the car’s roof had been cut open, and a Molotov cocktail may have been used to start the fire.
Cudi then arranged to speak with Diddy at Soho House in Los Angeles. He described Diddy as calmly looking out the window like a movie villain.
When Cudi asked Diddy about the fire, Diddy denied everything and said he didn’t know what Cudi was talking about.
They met again in 2015, at the same place. This time, Diddy apologized. He told Cudi, “Man, I just want to apologise for everything and all that bullsh*t.” Cudi said that after hearing this, he finally felt some peace.
Cudi also said that DNA samples were taken from the burnt car, but he never heard the results and no one was charged.
Diddy’s lawyer, Brian Steel, suggested that Cassie may have misled Cudi. Cudi agreed that it was possible.
He ended his testimony by saying their relationship ended because it wasn’t safe. He added, “I knew Sean Combs was violent.”
