I was called a bitter feminist when I started criticizing women that make men broke me comfortable – Aniebiet Francis

Nollywood filmmaker Aniebiet Francis recently opened up about how people called her a bitter feminist. This happened after she spoke out against women who make men feel okay being broke and not working.

She shared her thoughts while replying to a Facebook post by Emem Isong, a well-known Nigerian pastor’s wife.

Aniebiet said the post made her laugh because she had already been criticizing women who encourage men to stay jobless and unproductive. She pointed out that these women make men comfortable in being broke, and that isn’t right.

She added that some women, known as “pickme women,” accused her of being bitter and supporting “pussyprenuership” — a term used to describe women who rely on men for money instead of working for themselves. But now, a respected pastor’s wife has spoken out on the same issue, leaving those women without words to respond.

Aniebiet believes she was ahead of her time by saying what many people think but are afraid to say out loud.

She also said she is brave enough to stand alone and speak her truth even when others disagree. At the end of her message, she joked about needing to eat after saying her piece.
