UTME Failure: Nobody, technology above human error, forgive Oloyede – Shehu Sani to Nigerians

Shehu Sani, who was once a senator representing Kaduna Central, has shared his thoughts on the 2025 UTME failure. He said that no person or machine is perfect, and mistakes can happen.

He made this statement after the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, admitted that a mistake happened during the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Many people across the country were upset after a large number of students failed the UTME. Parents, students, and others raised concerns over the shocking results.

During a press briefing, Prof. Oloyede said the mass failure was due to a technical issue that affected the examination process.

According to him, out of 1.9 million students who took the exam, more than 1.5 million scored below 200 out of 400. This result has caused serious worry in Nigeria’s education sector.

Reacting to this, Shehu Sani encouraged the public to calm down and show understanding. He reminded people that the JAMB boss admitted the mistake and asked for forgiveness.

In a message posted on social media platform X, Sani said no human or machine is free from error. He praised Prof. Oloyede for not being proud or blaming others but instead owning up to the mistake and promising to fix it.

Sani said it is better to be honest and take responsibility than to ignore the problem or look for someone else to blame.

He ended by asking those affected to stay calm and allow Oloyede the chance to correct the issue and improve the system.
