Singer Dawn Richard testified in court on Friday, May 16, saying she saw Sean “Diddy” Combs physically attack Cassie. She told the jury that Diddy had a history of violent behavior.

Dawn, who was once part of the girl group Danity Kane, was asked to speak during Diddy’s ongoing criminal trial. Prosecutors questioned her about an incident that took place in 2009 involving Cassie Ventura and Diddy.

According to Dawn’s testimony, the incident happened at Diddy’s home in Los Angeles. She said she saw Diddy kick Cassie and try to hit her with a skillet filled with eggs. Cassie dropped to the floor and curled up while Diddy continued kicking her. Then, he dragged her across the room.

Dawn also said she heard loud yelling and breaking glass. She admitted that she feared for Cassie’s life—and her own.

After the assault, Dawn claimed that Diddy warned her and another bandmate to stay quiet. She said he told them, “Where I come from, people go missing if they talk.”

Her statement in court supports what Cassie had already said earlier in the trial. Cassie claimed Diddy abused her many times. Dawn also included these accusations in a lawsuit she filed in November 2024.

At the end of the day, the judge released Dawn and the jury for the weekend. She is expected to return to the stand to continue her testimony on Monday.
