Gov Yusuf orders immediate screening of 4,000 BESDA teachers

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has ordered the immediate screening of over 4,000 teachers who recently finished the Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) program.

He gave this order on Monday during an event where teaching materials were shared with public schools across the state.

Governor Yusuf said that this action is part of his plan to improve the education sector in Kano.

He added that the goal is to reward hardworking teachers and make sure students get quality education.

Only teachers who are qualified and capable will be hired into the school system, the governor said.

He told the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to start the screening process immediately. Teachers will have to take an aptitude test to check if they are good enough for permanent jobs.

Governor Yusuf explained that this is not just about giving people jobs. It is about making sure students are taught by skilled professionals.

According to the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the test will be a fair and clear way to check the teachers’ abilities.
