Lamine Yamal made history on Wednesday night by becoming the youngest player to ever score in a Champions League semi-final. The 17-year-old Barcelona star scored a brilliant goal against Inter Milan, breaking Kylian Mbappe’s previous record.
Barcelona were already losing 2-0 after goals from Marcus Thuram and Denzel Dumfries. But Yamal gave his team hope by dribbling past defenders and curling the ball into the net. His goal brought energy back to the team, and the exciting match ended in a 3-3 draw.
Yamal is now the youngest player to score in a UCL semi-final at just 17 years and 291 days. Mbappe had held the record since 2017 when he scored for Monaco at the age of 18 years and 140 days.
