President Bola Tinubu has told Nigeria’s security leaders that it’s time to take stronger action against rising insecurity in the country. He said, “Enough is enough,” during a meeting with service chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The President has ordered a full change in how Nigeria handles security. This comes after recent killings in states like Borno, Benue, Plateau, and Kwara.
Tinubu’s spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, shared this update in a statement. The National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, also spoke to reporters after the meeting. He said the President gave clear instructions for a new approach to fighting crime and violence.
Ribadu mentioned that even while President Tinubu was traveling abroad, he stayed in touch and gave orders to security agencies. At the long and detailed meeting on Wednesday, the President told them to work more closely with local governments, governors, and communities.
Ribadu added that Tinubu is very concerned about the situation and wants peace restored as soon as possible. Top members of the armed forces, police, and intelligence agencies were all present at the meeting.
